When I wrote Blood Melt, I was in the middle of an extremely difficult time during my personal life. What could be more heart-wrenching than to be a mother separated from a beloved child—doesn’t matter what the reason, the pain of departure is still great.
It helped to write and pour my emotions into a story about a young man, alien to Earth, leaving his mother and country, on his way to a foreign land. Brave soldiers face this scenario daily, not know if they would ever see home again. And so it was with Seth Lutalo Adejola, the Amarkarue prince in Blood Melt. His fate rested in the hands of Avani Darrisaw, a descendant who didn’t know she was a descendant and fought becoming anything else than a normal sixteen year old citizen of Earth.
The eBook you can download absolutely for FREE is about Sadie Mae Stevens, a fourteen year old with the weight of her world upon her shoulders. Oh, I guess I need to tell ya that her world is not Earth. When Sadie was five, her mother died a brutal death before she got a chance to school Sadie about who they were. Unfortunately, now Sadie is left to battle the Gordite witch all by herself!
